This page explains what Kai does, how the beta works, and which setup steps create a useful conversation layer on a website.

What is Kai?

Kai is an AI-powered conversation layer that sits on top of your website. It lets visitors ask questions naturally by text or voice and receive accurate, context-aware answers drawn from your own content.

Unlike a scripted chatbot, Kai answers from the website pages you include and the inline context you review. If the available content does not contain an answer, it is instructed to say so rather than invent details.

How does Kai work?

  1. Create and crawl a site - Kai discovers public pages and extracts titles, descriptions, headings, and body content.
  2. Build inline context - Included raw pages are assembled into a prompt-ready knowledge base, with priority pages first and a 75,000-token budget.
  3. Configure and install the widget - Choose floating or inline mode, authorize origins, and copy the generated snippet.
  4. Review activity and GEO - See conversations on every plan, unlock full intent analytics on Growth and Scale, and export GEO remediation data for a coding agent.

The current beta sends the saved inline context with chat prompts before any on-demand retrieval. The dashboard exposes the generated context and raw source pages so you can include, exclude, edit, fetch, rebuild, or regenerate content before publishing it.

What do the plans control?

Plan entitlements apply to sites, indexed pages per site, text tokens, voice minutes, content sync, analytics, and branding:

  • Free: 1 site, 50 pages per site, 100,000 text tokens, 30 voice minutes, daily content checks, basic activity, and required branding. Free usage stops at either included meter, and each voice conversation is limited to 5 minutes.
  • Growth: 3 sites, 500 pages per site, 1,500,000 text tokens, 500 voice minutes, daily plus manual sync, full insights, and branding removal.
  • Scale: 15 sites, 5,000 pages per site, 7,500,000 text tokens, 3,000 voice minutes, Growth features, and priority support.

Growth and Scale remain available after included usage and charge overages at $0.04 per 1,000 text tokens and $0.15 per voice minute. See Billing and plans for pricing, checkout intervals, and Scale capabilities marked Coming soon.

How do I get started?

  1. On first sign-in, enter Site name and Website URL, then select Create site. The initial crawl starts automatically.
  2. Follow progress on Crawl activity. Later manual crawls use Crawl content and require Growth or Scale.
  3. Open Knowledge base to review raw pages and the generated Inline context.
  4. Open Widget, add each allowed origin, choose Floating or Inline, then select Copy install snippet.
  5. Use Preview before placing the snippet on your site.

The fastest path is to crawl first, confirm the knowledge base is accurate, and then install the widget once the answers reflect your current public content.
