Billing and plans
This page explains how token-based billing works, what each plan includes, how upgrades work, and where to track usage.
How does billing work?
Hi, I'm Kai uses a token-based billing model. Every conversation consumes tokens based on the length of visitor messages and retrieved context.
Token budgets keep usage predictable while allowing answers to include the context needed for accuracy.
Which plans are available?
The plans table has three columns: the plan name, the token budget, and an estimated message volume for a typical month.
| Plan | Token budget | Estimated messages |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 150,000 | ~500/month |
| Growth | 6,000,000 | ~20,000/month |
| Scale | 20,000,000 | ~66,667/month |
Actual message volume varies by question length, answer length, and retrieved context size. Treat estimates as planning guidance rather than a hard guarantee.
How do I upgrade?
The landing page and Settings now use a Stripe Pricing Table to present Growth and Scale. Free only requires logging in.
If you do not have a paid subscription yet, Stripe Pricing Table sends you to Stripe Checkout. If you already have a subscription, Settings shows a single Manage subscription action that opens the Stripe Customer Portal for upgrades, downgrades, payment-method changes, and cancellations.
The new budget takes effect after Stripe sends the subscription webhook.
How do I track usage?
The Settings page shows a real-time progress bar of tokens consumed during the billing period. It also shows your estimated message count and the total number of answered questions across all sites.
Check usage before campaigns or launches so you can upgrade before traffic increases.
